Nicole Anasenes was surprised by media stories that focused on her gender when she was named chief financial officer of Manhattan-based Infor about 18 months ago.
“I’d been in finance all my life,” she explained, “and no one cared [about gender].”
The difference: Ms. Anasenes (No. 45 on our list) had become one of four women, including the chief operating officer, on the leadership team of a technology company—a rarity in a notoriously male-dominated industry.
